St. Lucie West is a GORGEOUS park in the town of Port St. Lucie, FL. It's about 20 minutes to get the Atlantic Ocean, but not quite that easy to get to the ocean. You have to drive north of town or south of town to access roads that cross the Indian River to get to the Atlantic Ocean. There are newly developed shopping areas close by, grocery shopping easily accessible, the minor league baseball park is 1/2 mile from the RV resort, (guess who's going to the Cardinals/Mets baseball game tomorrow? grins Eldo) and there are lots of other things to see and do in the area.
This is a beautiful park.....If you belong to F.M.C.A. (Family Motorcoach Association), it will cost you about 51.00 a day to stay here. If you don't have the FMCA membership, it's about 66.00 a night...too costly for us, but we had a freebie from the Tampa RV show...Three days, two nights for FREE so here we are! The park is sold out in phase I, phase II is 80% sold, so this park is doing very well with selling lots. We could see why.....Current lots in the phase II section, some really nice big ones, are selling for 60,000 -- a bargain because Florida real estate is down right now.....We could see why the lots are selling well here....Cable is included, the sites are absolutely beautiful and very spacious, the amenities are top notch, including the 14 hole par 3 golf course. There is a monthly maintenance fee of about $240.00 which covers all your landscaping, trash pickup, water, sewer and free golf! That seems pretty reasonable to us....
Beautiful clubhouse and main pool....There are three pools with three hot tubs!
Here are what the smaller "neighborhood" pools look like....
Here is an undeveloped site overlooking one of the lakes.....
Here is another one that's been sold overlooking a pretty waterfall....
They have beautiful tennis courts with pickleball courts laid out as well....
This is a SINGLE lot that somebody has started to work on.....
Here is one of the beautiful sites that an owner has made into his own little paradise...A lot of the owners have tiki huts on their sites...It reminded us of the Keys.
Here is a pond on the yet to be developed Phase III section of the park...The cranes and their babies hang out over here for part of the day....Can you blame them?
This is our view as we sit on out on the patio, looking across the street. Nice landscaping job, eh?
Sure gives one food for thought as far as a wonderful place to stay over the winter.....But that's all we can do for right now, is just think about it! We'd have to spend a lot of time here, check out the atmosphere of the "neighborhood", check out the activities (which there are a LOT of) and see how friendly the people are....We've noticed that it seems to be a very warm friendly place in the short time we've been here...One more day and we go back into the Thousand Trails system, Sunshine Travel RV Park in Vero Beach. Tomorrow, Eldy heads to the baseball park to see his beloved St. Louis Cardinals play! Sparky is going to just be enjoying some "me" time around home, baseball is just not her thing......See you tomorrow......
We love minor league baseball. . .tell Eldo to have a blast. . .

WOW...I'll say it is a beautiful park...but we couldn't afford to stay there even with our FMCA discount. ~wheresweaver
ReplyDeleteNice ... pricey to be sure, but with your freebie not so much. A nice place to perhaps splurge for a day or two after boondocking.
ReplyDeleteYeah it sure does look nice. I have a cousin in St Lucie so it will be nice place to visit. I'm anxious to hear how you like Sunshine Travel. We think it's a nice park too.
ReplyDeleteWay too fancy for us , but the 3 days two nights free is a great deal, we try to get those too.
