You ain't seen nothin' till you've seen one of the Gypsy Journal rally beauty queen contests. The western rally here in Yuma, AZ had the "Cactus Queen" beauty contest tonight. It was hilarious! Eight guys dressed up as women, Nick Russell telling crazy funny stories about each gal's past and present....Each guy who has the guts to get made up and dressed up like a woman gets a name with a story...depending on how much the guy plays up to the audience and how cute "she" is, determines the winner by audience whoops, claps and hollers.
One of the nice things about this beauty contest is that the hat is passed at the end for contributions to the Care facility in Livingston, TX. This is a place for RVers for nursing care......Last year's beauty contest at the Gypsy Journal rally in Goshen, IN raised over $400.00 for Care. We'll see how much the audience contributed after this evening's fun and silliness. The guys did a great job! It takes guts to dress up like women and put yourself out there. We saw one of the younger guys come out swigging a beer. Apparently, he'd been drinking back stage...maybe to get up the nerve to come out! Heck, when you get older, you don't care what people think! Here is the lovely bevy of guys, er, gals who competed this evening.....
What a hoot, and for a good cause to boot.ReplyDelete
