Back to the GREENS in Casa Grande

We're back in Casa Grande at Palm Creek Golf and RV resort. Green trees, green cactus, green golf course. It's so nice to get back to some greenery after a long, dry sandy week at Yuma. I had a great Tastefully Simple show...introduced the products to many people who had never heard of it before. I really enjoyed talking to the many people who stopped by the table to sample dips and cheeseballs (carrot cake crunch, key lime, and strawberry) and share whether they liked to cook or not..(most of the gals said for the most part, they didn't!)  It was very dry and sandy at the Yuma Fairgrounds, but they did a nice job of watering down the areas around the fairgrounds to keep the dust down...I really miss trees and shade we're so used to in the midwest, but there are nature's tradeoffs for the missing trees---palms, uh-h-h.....ummmm.....oh! canyons, cactus, deserts (if you like them)...mountains....I'll be more appreciative down the road when we head north again....The Yuma Fairgrounds was right across the street from the Marine Air Base...we had big jets flying over every day. I was hoping to see some of the Harrier jets, but they weren't active this time when we were there. Some people were bothered by the noise of the Air Force jets, but as Nick says, "That's the sound of freedom, folks!"

We're here in Casa Grande till the second week in May! Activities at Palm Creek are winding down, as the Canadians have to head home soon and many snowbirds are leaving...just as we got back today, a lady stopped by and invited us to a Tiffin "Happy Hour" at 4:00 today......It will be great to meet some new people at this park....it turned out to be quite a big gathering with the most people from the Washington and Oregon area. We chatted with those folks for awhile, as we are going to the northwest in May and June....

Tonight we decided to eat at a local bar and grill called The Gym...they had a nice outdoor gas fireplace and it was nice eating outside, but the food was just so-so...

For some reason, we're exhausted today...maybe it's the let-down, the having to say goodbye to some wonderful people, the winding down of a very busy week from the rally...at any rate, we're retiring early this evening...looks like there is some kind of art show in Casa Grande tomorrow, we might check that out.  See you later.....
