We drove to Ellenton Outlet Mall today in Ellenton, FL. It's about 17 miles from Sun 'n' Fun. Sparky wanted to check out bargains for her little grandson Barron, at the outlet stores....SCORE! There seems to be a recurring theme here of little monsters, but Sparky's little grandson is too little to be one yet! Wait till he hits the two's, then there MIGHT be some correlation.
Back home, Sparky worked on getting some kind of decorations going for the front of our site. Sparky HAD to have SOMETHING Christmasy on the site! Never did find those darn rope lights. Two cemetery wreath holders, some twisty ties, extra wire, a bunch of lights and an hour later, Sparky got two little trees set up.
They kinda look like little Charlie Brown Christmas trees but hey, we've got a LITLE Christmas spirit goin' on on the outside and a whole lotta Christmas spirit on the inside in our hearts, where it really counts!
In three weeks, Eldy's kids and grandkids come for a week's visit to Sun 'n' Fun, and my two daughters and my little 6 month old grandson will also be arriving, whom I haven't seen since he was born. It's going to be a special holiday this year, with our children and grandchildren here with us. They are going to stay in little cottages, or park models near our RV site. Sparky is counting the days and hoping the beautiful weather continues for their stay. Any weather is probably going to be better than northern Indiana, Houston TX, or Alexandria VA.
At the end of the day, we headed over to Woody's River Roo Pub and Grill in Ellenton for a bite to eat. Great food, great entertainment offered most evenings, and the pub is on the water. We love those kinds of places where the locals mix with the travelers, and you can sit and eat great food and listen to wonderful entertainment. There are so many places like that in Florida! Taylor Taylor were playing tonight, one of our favorite entertainment duos that we just heard last night at Sun 'n' Fun--two women who know how to play all kinds of music, have great vocals, and rock the joint with a terrific variety of musical instruments. People always get up and dance to these gals when they play. Tonight, we just listened. Sparky and Eldo will get their groove on another night!
See you later......
You are way ahead of me in the decorating department, and I wouldn't even do it except my grandchildren want me to.
ReplyDeleteYou are ahead of me too but when you have a December birthday you learn to make Christmas wait until after that. Bad enough to get one of your Christmas gifts reassigned. ";-))
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend the holidays...Family, Fun, Florida!!!!
ReplyDeleteGetting all pumped up and ready for the masses to arrive for Christmas, have too much fun.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that all the family is coming at the same time. It's also very nice they will NOT all be staying in the motor home!
ReplyDeleteYour little Christmas trees look pretty nice. I guess I'll have to do some decorating when we get back to Tampa. I have decided not to put up our little tree, because I know Baxter would go nuts playing with it. I'm trying to figure out "Baxter proof" decorations for inside.
Enjoy your family, that is what Christmas is all about!
