Right next to Walmart is the Blueberry Hill RV Park and many people stay there for the winter season. They were charging 30.00 for one night to stay, so we stayed at Wally World. We're headed to Sarasota today, a remaining 100 mile drive.
Here's a cute little story for you....Eldy's daughter, Kristi, has put out a physical fitness challenge to all her friends and family--The 25 days of Christmas Challenge--do something physical 30 minutes every day for 25 days until Christmas. Sparky was in right away...Eldy, not so much...But he decided what the heck, "thirty minutes is EASY" and he joined in the challenge...But he told Kristi, that he would be driving all day December 1st, and he'd have to start Dec. 2nd. Not a problem....So-o-o-o...yesterday, we pulled in the parking lot of Walmart, got settled for the night and decided to get a bite to eat. Wendy's was in back of us, and so was McDonald's. Wendy's it was, and we walked over there for our supper. Eldy reported in to Kristi on Facebook--"I walked 2 1/2 min. to Wendy's and back, does that count?" but Kristi misinterpreted what he said. Here's her response....
Okay I have to brag a little!! I challenged my Dad to try my 25 days to Christmas and do some type of activity every day!! Well he was not suppose to start until tomorrow because he was driving 450 miles today. So I agreed to that!! Well he is so amazing and made me so proud!! He walked to Wendy's tonight for dinner instead of driving!! He said it was about 2 1/2 miles each way!!! I am one proud Daughter tonight!!! Love you Daddy!!
Well, we had to straighten THAT out...And she's right about the big step in the right direction. For a guy who worked 42 years in a factory 6-7 days a week, 10 hours a day in a physically demanding job most of his career, exercise has not a priority since he retired, but Sparky is working on that. Baby steps, baby steps. And because I can't seem to get to the bottom of the blog after copying this off Facebook, we'll end the blog today with that. After all, it is another travel day and then setting up at Sun 'n' Fun RV Resort. We'll tell you all about that tomorrow!
Well, I'll bet that Kristi's comments about how proud she was of her Dad will help him to get motivated now! Can't let her down, can you Eldy?
ReplyDeleteOnly 27 1/2 minutes a day more, he should be able to work up to that by the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteVery funny story. A Facebook oppps.. 450 miles is a PDD award winning day. I'd Think after so much sitting you'd need to walk 2.5 miles around and around Wendy's just to get the kinks out.

Good for her prompting Eldy to get moving. We all should take that cue. Jeannie, you walk/ride enough for all of us!
ReplyDeleteHA HA. . .the miles sounded a lot better. . .I was really being impressed. . .good one!
