Eldo's Feeling Lucky!

(It appears that in the time period that Blogger was down, two of my posts disappeared. The site said they were restoring the posts, but it didn't happen. Wouldn't you know, one of my better ones with good photos. Well, phooey! But Sparky is BA-A-A-C-K!)

After a low key day with Sparky starting to feel better, and Eldo having caught up on laundry, we headed over to the Chukchansi Casino for a $7.77 prime rib dinner. But first, sign up for a player's card--you usually get some free slot play or some other type of "reward"....we each got 20.00 in "free" play...

We aren't into spending time at casinos other than occasionally getting bargain overnight rates in the RV, and maybe getting a great buffet dinner for a cheap price, but we sometimes will go play the nickel slots, especially when it's on someone else's dime or dollar if we are staying in the RV parking at a casino. We had a nice dinner, some fun playing the slots and then we quit while we were ahead, using the casino's money. The food was so-so, nothing special, just  a very good price. We tried two casino restaurants while we were in, and neither one was a place where we'd come back to eat for the food and not the price with the exception of the prime rib dinner. That was very good for the price...

One other thing I will say about the casino, is that they certainly are battling bird problems, in particular, swallows. You can see by the netting all over the top of the casino, that they are doing their best to contain the birds to territory outside the casino, but it's not working very well! It looks like a shroud from afar...as you come into the casino, the swallows are swooping all over the place and leaving their dirty work behind as well on the windows and all over the sidewalks-- Ugh! The birds are protected, so the casino is not allowed to do anything more drastic.....

This casino did not offer much in the way of entertainment but once in a great while, not regularly on the weekends as some casinos do. But it was close, and something to do in this small town of Coarsegold....

See you later...I hear there's going to be a jazz band at a local pizza restaurant in Oakhurst later this week...that should be fun!
