That has caused other things to change and weight loss and diet are about all I can do to get back to normal. My doctor didn't want me to just try diet and exercise. ( I have to admit I wasn't doing very well with that for the last few years.) I'm on a low dose, but still don't like it. I'm going through what you are, trying different foods, changing my diet, trying to exercise more. Such a pain! I'm glad your new regimen is working for you, but remember that you HAVE to keep it up. That's the hardest part for me. Continued good health to you. :) Barbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16516591720277269204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625049441358125186.post-60668778826776546062015-05-16T14:04:46.960-04:002015-05-16T14:04:46.960-04:00SO glad that by moving into a whole foods plant ba...SO glad that by moving into a whole foods plant based diet I can eat as much as I like of nearly everything that has no oil or sugar. I don't even have to think about it anymore I've sworn I will not take medication to deal with the ravages of the normal American Diet. Dropped my cholesterol over 100 points and I lost 20 pounds when I changed the way I was eating. Wishing you the best of luck. I think you are wise to work actively to control your own health rather than rely on the pharmaceutical companies and the American Medical Association .Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00328866430156879312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625049441358125186.post-30041153130521686572015-05-16T10:29:12.580-04:002015-05-16T10:29:12.580-04:00I have been on the high sugar level merrygoround f...I have been on the high sugar level merrygoround for years. The doctors keep telling me my numbers are high, but don't seem to be concerned or give me any advice about getting them down. No meds have been suggested. I run between 120-135 and 6+ most of the time. I' m just told to loose a few puonds and exercise more. Hey, I'm hiking as much as possible, for me anyway!Merikayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05378095339747943548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625049441358125186.post-32752262117967364432015-05-16T09:28:04.756-04:002015-05-16T09:28:04.756-04:00Oh yeah, my A1C was 6.2, but then the last one was...Oh yeah, my A1C was 6.2, but then the last one was 5.9. Working on it, but we loooove to eat out. Working at Amazon helped with the weight thing, but it's easy to slip and eat unhealthy. Dang food is so good :) My Mom has type 2 and I don't want to fall into that, so I try to be careful!owensontheroadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076915620668491771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625049441358125186.post-14114710983030377452015-05-16T09:26:32.896-04:002015-05-16T09:26:32.896-04:00I guess I must have missed something because I did...I guess I must have missed something because I didn't know you were diabetic. Good job losing the weight and bringing your numbers down. I know you don't like veggies much, so I'm sure it's hard for you. Don't be too quick to rule out some of those vegan recipes. I'm not a cook either and I've found some really good easy plant based meals. If you like beans, I'm wondering if they might be a good after dinner snack for you. We both love the seasoned black beans. Try them, you'll like them!

Another thing I tried which was surprisingly good was roasted Garbonzo beans. You rinse and drain canned beans and put some sort of seasoning on them then roast them until crisp. Sugar and cinnamon (not for you obviously) or my favorite is cayenne pepper and salt. They come out crispy and very tasty. And EASY. They are full of fiber and no calories to speak of.

Good job Jeannie!
Karen and Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15284661066870109259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625049441358125186.post-34311162971366685632015-05-16T08:43:15.382-04:002015-05-16T08:43:15.382-04:00Good for you.
I always said you are what you eat, ...Good for you.
I always said you are what you eat, and healthy eating is a lifestyle, not a diet. Just watch what you eat.
I have gotten Suzie converted and she loves it ! I have lost 50 lbs, cholesterol and blood pressure is way down. I am not diabetic though but now feel more awesome!our awesome travelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13031755671050584629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625049441358125186.post-78789416129929352792015-05-16T08:36:33.952-04:002015-05-16T08:36:33.952-04:00Well, my Travelling Companion has had type two for...Well, my Travelling Companion has had type two for a number of years now. It sure is a learning experience, but it can be managed. Just cutting out most of the cr*p we like to snack on/eat seems to be the biggest part of the solution.
You seem to have a handle on it. You'll be fine.Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03523653271715366168noreply@blogger.com
