Time Out for the Park

We've been out and about the last two days, exploring Sedona a little bit, and getting some ordinary life things done like laundry. We really like the Distant Drums RV Park that we are staying in. They honor Passport America, so we are here for three days at 18.00 a night...the park is one of the newer RV parks in Arizona, we understand.

Nice spacious sites, cement pads, great clubhouse, nice fitness room with new equipment and weights, very nice laundry...and this is full hookups. The sites have some shade but not a lot. When the trees mature, it will be an even nicer spot to stay. The pool is very small, suitable for dunking yourself on a hot day, and that's about it. There's a really nice patio outside the clubhouse for anybody staying there to use. Nice bouncy patio chairs sort of like rockers--Eldy LOVES rocking chairs or anything that's like that, there are BBQ grills for anyone to use, and the view of the mountains is beautiful.

The mountains are in the distance and it's a very peaceful place here. Sedona is about 20 miles away, Jerome about the same distance. We're going to check out Jerome tomorrow on the recommendations of some of our blogging friends. It's always great to get a tip from someone who has been in the area before you. There are so many possibilities in the Sedona area to explore, it could take weeks to see everything. We just have a few days, so we'll try to hit the highlights and I know we will come back again. Family is coming, and that's the most important thing right now. My brother, his wife and their daughter, my sister, her husband and children and their families all come in tomorrow night, and one of my daughters comes in Thursday....can't wait to see everybody!

  2. I did the Jerome Hill Climb a couple years back. You run from the downtown area up the mountain about 4 miles. The finish line is way up there. Then you either run or walk back down the mountain.
